About Mesa Verde National Park License Plates
All Colorado residents who make a one-time $30 minimum donation to the Mesa Verde Foundation will be eligible to purchase a set (front & back) of Mesa Verde National Park license plates – both front and back! All license plate proceeds will directly benefit the Mesa Verde National Park. Your donation will help with capital improvements, special projects and educational endeavors that promote an understanding of the cultural and natural resources of the Park.
Your donation will also help to celebrate and recognize one of the premiere archeological sites in the world, and one of the main attractions for the southwest region.
Once your donation has been received by the Mesa Verde Foundation, the Foundation will send you a confirmation receipt including a Pin # via email. The “pin number” entitles you to one set of the Mesa Verde National Park license plates and must be presented at a Colorado County Motor Vehicle Office.
Mesa Verde National Park is one of the 12 original UNESCO World Heritage Sites and is home to hundreds of Cliff dwellings and thousands of ancient artifacts and remnants of Ancestral Puebloans. The Park was established in 1906 to preserve and interpret the archeological heritage of the Ancestral Pueblo people who made the park their home for over 700 years, from 600 to 1300 CE. Today, the park protects nearly 5,000 known archeological sites, including 600 cliff dwellings. These sites are some of the most notable and best preserved in the United States. Your support will help to ensure the park and its treasures will continue to be celebrated and protected.
Please allow 10 days to receive your Pin # via email.
