BRING HOME THE BEAUTY AND HISTORY OF
MESA VERDE NATIONAL PARK
AND
THE COLORADO PLATEAU

4th Annual Art Exhibition & Sale

DENVER – As the summer sun rises over the ancient ruins of Mesa Verde National Park and southwest Colorado, 37 premier artists including Dan Young, Jill Carver, Nancy Boren, Gary Nibett, Joe Bohler, Jim Rey and many more will be capturing this unique landscape, light, color and history on canvas.

The event welcomes eighteen new painters and sculptors and the addition of plein air painting along the San Juan Skyway in southwest Colorado.

Finished studio paintings that were inspired by the opportunity to paint in Mesa Verde National Park and the surrounding area this June will be on display and for sale during an exhibit at the Saks Galleries in Cherry Creek on November 1 - 19, 2016.

This exhibit allows viewers to experience Mesa Verde National Park and the landscape of southern Colorado through the eyes and interpretation of these talented artists.

On Friday, Nov 4th, the Mesa Verde Foundation will host an exclusive panel discussion and preview of the exhibit at Saks Galleries. Ann Daley, a former curator at the Denver Art Museum will moderate the discussion of “Everything You Want to Know about Collecting Western Art But were Afraid to Ask”. The panel will feature a collector an artist and a gallery owner.

On Saturday Nov 5th, Mesa Verde Foundation hosts a cocktail reception and art sale at Saks Galleries. This is a chance for attendees to purchase the art and to meet with the artists, Mesa Verde National Park management and Mesa Verde Foundation board members.

The exhibit is free and open to the public at Saks Galleries, 3019 E. 2nd Ave. from Nov 1 – 19th, 2016. Tickets must be purchased for the panel discussion on Nov. 4th and for the cocktail reception on Nov. 5th. You may purchase your tickets online at www.mesaverdefoundation.org, or by calling the foundation at 303-321-3120.

This event was created by the Mesa Verde Foundation, the non-profit fundraising partner for the national park. All proceeds will benefit the Mesa Verde Foundation and Mesa Verde National Park.
